Regular Season Round 1: Konstantin - Spartak 81-72

Everything could happen in Nis at the game between two tied teams. Both leader Konstantin and bottom-ranked Spartak had identical 0-0 record. This time Konstantin used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Subotica 81-72 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Konstantin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Konstantin outrebounded Spartak 34-19 including 22 on the defensive glass. Center Marko Jovanovic (214-82) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Vladimir Velickovic (178-89) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. Kemal Karahodzic produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and Ivan Djurovic added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Spartak's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Despite that victory Konstantin went down to first position due to points difference, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Spartak still closes the standings with one game lost. Konstantin will face Sabac (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Spartak will play against Vojvodina (#14) in Novi Sad.
