Regular Season Round 3: Hoverla - Khimik 90-80

Undefeated Khimik (3-1) recorded its first loss in Frankivsk. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Hoverla (3-1) 90-80. Khimik was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Hoverla made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Khimik turnovers. Khimik was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for point guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) with 18 points and point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hoverla have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ferro-ZNTU and Khimik. Hoverla will play against Mykolaiv (#7) in Mykolaiv in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Khimik will have a break next round.
