Regular Season Round 3: Hoverla - BC Odessa 76-71

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Hoverla (3-1) beat 8th ranked BC Odessa (1-2) in Frankivsk 76-71. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It looked good early as BC Odessa took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hoverla took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. 26 personal fouls committed by BC Odessa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Four Hoverla players scored in double figures. Hoverla's coach Evgeni Murzin allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who recorded 22 points and Vincentian center Shawn King (208-82, college: ORU) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively. Hoverla have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ferro-ZNTU and Khimik. BC Odessa at the other side dropped to the ninth position with two games lost. Hoverla's next round opponent will be Mykolaiv (#7) in Mykolaiv which should be theoretically an easy game. BC Odessa will play at home against BC Kyiv.
