Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Science City Jena (3-2) defeated at home 10th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (3-2) 71-62 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BV Chemnitz 99 won third quarter 19-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Science City Jena won last quarter 24-16. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. American guard Kenny Barker (191-86, college: Alaska-Anch.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 8 assists.
