No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked USC Heidelberg (2-2) crushed bottom-ranked Leitershofen (0-4) in Diedorf 114-78 on Saturday. The game without a history. USC Heidelberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. USC Heidelberg forced 19 Leitershofen turnovers. It was a great shooting night for USC Heidelberg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Leitershofen was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Sanijay Watts (193-87, college: Cent.Missouri, agency: Limelight Hoops) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. Power forward Oliver Komarek (210-86) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four USC Heidelberg players scored in double figures. American guard Corey Hassan (193-87, college: Sacred Heart) answered with 25 points and the other American import forward Logan Stutz (205-88, college: Washburn, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Leitershofen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. USC Heidelberg moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted Leitershofen still closes the standings with four games lost. USC Heidelberg will face ETB Wohnbau (#12) in Essen in the next round. Leitershofen will play on the road against Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels and hopes to get finally their first victory.
