Regular Season Round 2: Pulsar - VolinBasket 69-72

Undefeated BC-93 Pulsar (1-1) recorded its first loss in Rovno on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by eleventh ranked VolinBasket (1-1) 72-69. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC-93 Pulsar won third quarter 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded BC-93 Pulsar 43-26 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Vadim Reka (206-83) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Bogdan Karebin (191-78) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. VolinBasket's coach Sergei Smityukh used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Evgen Korovyakov (197-88) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ilya Shemosyuk (188-85) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four BC-93 Pulsar players scored in double figures. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. VolinBasket left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with Pulsar. VolinBasket is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC-93 Pulsar will have a break next round.
