There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (3-2) were smashed by eighth ranked Gloria Giants (3-2) in Duesseldorf 83-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Gloria Giants. Crailsheim Merlins was better in third quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gloria Giants made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Crailsheim Merlins turnovers. Crailsheim Merlins were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Aubrey Reese (183-78, college: Murray St., agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Estonian forward Rait Keerles (201-80, agency: Numbers Sports Agency) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Gloria Giants players scored in double figures.
