Very expected game when 7th ranked Mykolaiv (2-3) was defeated at home by second ranked Hoverla (5-1) 90-86 on Monday. Hoverla forced 22 Mykolaiv turnovers. Strangely Mykolaiv outrebounded Hoverla 46-29 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mykolaiv was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists and point guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who added 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Rodney Green (195-88, college: La Salle) responded with 31 points and 5 rebounds and forward Vincent Hunter (208-84, college: Arkansas) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Four Hoverla and five Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hoverla have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Mykolaiv lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Hoverla will face DniproAzot (#11) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
