Regular Season Round 6: Naestved - Horsholm 77-84
Date: October 19, 2011
Very significant was Horsholm's (#4) 84-77 road victory against one of their biggest challengers Naestved. It looked good early as Naestved took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Horsholm had a 18-15 second period charge getting the lead and Naestved was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-84. Horsholm forced 20 Naestved turnovers. Power forward Philip Hertz (210-92) notched 24 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the effort and forward Alexander Bak (193-91) supported him with 19 points. Four Horsholm players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds by American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: Stephen F. Austin, agency: I.D.S. Law) did not help to save the game for Naestved. His fellow American import point guard Corin Henry (180-88, college: Tarleton St.) added 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Naestved's coach Geoff Kotila tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Horsholm have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Naestved lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Aabyhoj. Horsholm will play against bottom-ranked Aalborg (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Naestved will play against SISU (#6) in Copenhagen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
