Very predictable result when leader Zalgiris (4-0) won against 8th ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (1-3) in Kaunas 91-74 on Thursday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Zalgiris made 36-of-41 free shots (87.8 percent) during the game, while Pieno Zvaigzdes only scored twelve points from the stripe. They outrebounded Pieno Zvaigzdes 44-28 including a 36-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pieno Zvaigzdes was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Serbian center Milovan Rakovic (208-85) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) contributed with 7 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures.
