There was no surprise in Lviv where bottom-ranked Kryvbasbasket (0-4) was edged by twelfth ranked Halychyna (2-5) 85-84 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-11. But Kryvbasbasket won second period 25-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kryvbasbasket was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Lans Harris (195-83, college: Kansas St.) who scored 28 points. Croatian point guard Vedran Morovic (184-83, college: Olney Central CC, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 20 points and 9 assists. Forward Igor Krivtsov (201-86) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American guard Alvin Snow (188-81, college: E.Washington) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Halychyna moved-up to tenth place. Loser Kryvbasbasket still closes the standings with four games lost. Halychyna will face DniproAzot (#12) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round. Kryvbasbasket will play on the road against the league's leader Hoverla and will have a slim chance for a victory.
