Important game to mention about took place in Klaipeda. First ranked Lemminkainen (2-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Sirenos (2-2) 55-52 in the fight for the third place. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Sirenos was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 23-16 charge of Lemminkainen, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 26 Sirenos turnovers. The winners were led by guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) who scored that evening 20 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Ukrainian guard Jevgenija Sharovka (175-88, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 10 points. Even 13 points and 5 assists by guard Egle Sarapaite (173-88) did not help to save the game for Sirenos. Center Kristina Alminaite (204-90) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for lost side. Despite that victory Lemminkainen went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with defeated Sirenos. Lemminkainen will play against Utena (#6) at home in the next round. Sirenos will play against Utena and hopes to get back on the winning track.
