Very expected game when 13th ranked ABRO-Universitetas (1-4) lost to fifth ranked Matinga-Juod. (3-2) in Siauliai 70-76 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-15. But ABRO-Universitetas won second period 14-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded ABRO-Universitetas 38-24 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. ABRO-Universitetas was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Zilvinas Kuklierius (180-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Center Arturas Masiulis (210-80) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Julius Jucikas (205-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Rokas Giedraitis (195-92) added 15 points in the effort for ABRO-Universitetas. ABRO-Universitetas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Matinga-Juod. maintains fifth place with 3-2 record, which they share with Silute and Nafta Universitetas. ABRO-Universitetas lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. Matinga-Juod. will face higher ranked Zalgiris-Sabonio (#4) in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ABRO-Universitetas will play on the road against Ezerunas-Karys (#11) in Moletai.
