The game in was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Zalgiris-Sabonio (4-2) played at the court of sixth ranked Matinga-Juod. (4-2). Matinga-Juod. managed to secure a 6-point victory 88-82 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zalgiris-Sabonio. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 33-19. But Zalgiris-Sabonio won second period 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Matinga-Juod. won last quarter 23-19. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris-Sabonio's 34 and made 23-of-24 free shots (95.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Zilvinas Kuklierius (180-85) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Arturas Masiulis (210-80) chipped in 20 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Tauras Jogela (201-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Renaldas Simanavicius (184-92) added 19 points respectively. Four Matinga-Juod. and five Zalgiris-Sabonio players scored in double figures. Matinga-Juod. moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Zalgiris-Sabonio. Matinga-Juod. will meet league's leader Delikatesas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zalgiris-Sabonio will play against Nafta Universitetas in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
