Regular Season Round 6: Statyba - Silute 89-81

Rather predictable result in Vilnius where third ranked Statyba (5-1) defeated 7th ranked Silute (3-3) 89-81 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 15-11. But Silute won second period 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Eigirdas Zukauskas (201-92) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Remigijus Sugintas (196-87) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Statyba players scored in double figures. Statyba's coach Gintautas Regina used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Vitalis Pancerevas (183-87, college: Weatherford JC) with 27 points and guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Statyba have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Delikatesas. Loser Silute keeps the seventh place with three games lost. Statyba's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilnius to the arena Perlas-MRU.
