Round 3 in A League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Valjevo where host Metalac (2-1) edged league's leader BKK Radnicki (2-1) 94-92 in overtime on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BKK Radnicki. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BKK Radnicki won third quarter 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where BKK Radnicki used huge pressure winning it 28-24 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 13-15. Metalac made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Metalac outrebounded BKK Radnicki 44-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 29 personal fouls committed by BKK Radnicki helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Stefan Balmazovic (202-89) who scored 27 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Milan Trtic (201-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Marko Boltic (193-87) who recorded 17 points and guard Zoran Osmokrovic (189-81, agency: BeoExcell) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Metalac moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated BKK Radnicki. BKK Radnicki will play next round against Smederevo Vizura trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Metalac will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Mega Vizura on the road.
