Very expected game when 12th ranked Phoenix Hagen (2-3) was crushed on the road by third ranked Bayern Muenchen (4-1) 100-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bayern Muenchen. Phoenix Hagen was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayern Muenchen dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix Hagen's 32 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. American guard Je'Kel Foster (191-83, college: Ohio St., agency: Lanshire Group) stepped up and scored 23 points and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Chevon Troutman (202-81, college: Pittsburgh, agency: ACMT) chipped in 23 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Newly promoted Bayern Muenchen maintains third place with 4-1 record behind leader Telekom Baskets, which they share with Ratiopharm. Loser Phoenix Hagen dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Bayern Muenchen will face EWE Baskets (#11) in Oldenburg in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
