There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Balikesir (1-2) defeated at home higher ranked Baskent Genclik (1-2) 85-81. The best player for the winners was American forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Selaattin Akyol (180-86) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Recai Ozturk (198-82) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Melih Sevda (200-78) added 20 points respectively. Four Baskent Genclik players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Balikesir left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Baskent Genclik. Balikesir's next round opponent will be higher ranked Pamukkale (#6) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
