Regular Season Round 3: Pertevniyal - Darussafaka 72-62

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Darussafaka (1-2) lost to eighteenth ranked Pertevniyal (1-2) in Istanbul 62-72. It looked good early as Darussafaka took an 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Pertevniyal took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 10 points. The best player for the winners was point guard Soykan Yikilmaz (185-92) who scored 20 points. Burak Can chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Yunus Sonsirma (192-92) who recorded 17 points and Muhammed Baygul added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Pertevniyal left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Darussafaka. Pertevniyal's next round opponent will be league's leader Akhisar Bld at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
