Regular Season Round 6: BC Odessa - Budivelnyk 81-72

Undefeated Budivelnyk (5-1) recorded its first loss on the court of eighth ranked BC Odessa on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by BC Odessa 81-72. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Budivelnyk won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BC Odessa won last quarter 24-17. It was a great shooting night for BC Odessa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was Vincentian center Shawn King (208-82, college: ORU) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international swingman Rostyslav Kryvych (197-78) chipped in 23 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Swiss-Lithuanian guard Rolandas Alijevas (192-85) who recorded 12 points and 7 assists and American forward Zach Morley (203-83, college: Wisconsin) added 12 points respectively. Five Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Budivelnyk's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Odessa (3-3) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with BC Donetsk. Defending champion Budivelnyk dropped to the second position with one game lost. BC Odessa is looking forward to face Dnipro (#12) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round where they are favorite. Budivelnyk will have a break next round.
