Regular Season Round 5: Falcon - Amager 57-55

The most exciting game of round 5 in the Dameligaen took place in Falcon. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Amager (3-2) to eighth ranked Falcon (1-4) 57-55 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Amager. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Amager won fourth quarter 18-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Falcon held Amager to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Amager 50-28 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Trenice Fuller (193-87, college: Hofstra) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners and forward Emilie Klint (170-93) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Ena Viso (183-93) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Emilie Fogelstrom (166-92) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Falcon left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Aabyhoj and Lemvig. Amager at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Vaerlose. Falcon is looking forward to face league's leader SISU in Copenhagen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Amager will play on the road against Aabyhoj and is hoping to win this game.
