There was a minor upset in Barreiro where 4th ranked GDESSA (2-2) was defeated by sixth ranked Boa Viagem (2-1) 76-72. The guests were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-18 GDESSA's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 76-72 at the end of the game. The winners were led by American guard Corin Adams (170-88, college: Morgan St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Sherida Triggs (186-85, college: ODU, agency: Gamble Sports Management) supported her with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Angie Ned (175-85, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Gamble Sports Management) did not help to save the game for GDESSA. point guard Catarina Neves (173-93) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side.
