Alges used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Barreiro 82-56 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Alges led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 21 Galitos-Tley turnovers. American forward DeSean White (203-86, college: Northwood Fl.) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Joao Manuel (192-79) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Five Alges players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Antonio Carrilho (198-83) responded with 22 points and guard Alexandre Coelho (178-90) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alges will face Maia Basket (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Galitos-Tley will play against Oliveirense (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
