Regular Season Round 6: Ferro-ZNTU - Mykolaiv 71-75

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Ferro-ZNTU (5-2) against ninth ranked Mykolaiv (3-4) on Tuesday night. Host Ferro-ZNTU was defeated by Mykolaiv in a tough game in Zaporozhye 71-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ferro-ZNTU. It looked good early as Ferro-ZNTU took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mykolaiv had a 25-12 second period charge getting the lead and Ferro-ZNTU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-75. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for center Daniel McClintock (212-77, college: N.Arizona) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Rodney Green (195-88, college: La Salle) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) replied with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Randy Culpepper (182-89, college: UTEP) added 16 points and 7 assists in the effort for Ferro-ZNTU. Mykolaiv maintains ninth position with 3-4 record. Ferro-ZNTU at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. Mykolaiv will play against bottom-ranked Kryvbasbasket (#14) in Krivoy Rog in the next round where they are favorite. Ferro-ZNTU will have a break next round.
