Not a big story in a game in Ankara where 9th ranked Optimum TED (2-2) was edged by top-ranked Genc Telekom (4-0) 66-64 on Wednesday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Optimum TED was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Genc Telekom made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84, agency: TSS Management) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds and forward Mustafa Goerur (204-88) who added 8 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Hakan Yapar (202-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Nezih Ozbakir (206-80) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Optimum TED's coach Murat Ozyer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Genc Telekom have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Optimum TED at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. Genc Telekom will face Gelisim (#16) in Izmir in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Optimum TED will play at home against Gaziantep (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
