No shocking result in a game in Kaunas where tenth ranked LKKA-Atletas (4-3) defeated bottom-ranked Meresta (1-6) 106-92 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by LKKA-Atletas. Meresta managed to win fourth quarter 34-31. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. LKKA-Atletas looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Meresta's players. It was a great evening for guard Sarunas Vingelis (192-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 7 assists. Forward Vidmantas Sragauskis (200-86) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Ukrainian point guard Klym Artamonov (176-93) responded with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Simonas Slivka (193-86) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four LKKA-Atletas and five Meresta players scored in double figures. LKKA-Atletas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Meresta lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with ABRO-Univ.. LKKA-Atletas will meet Matinga-Juod. (#6) in the next round. Meresta will play against Zalgiris-Sabonio (#4) in Kaunas.
