Regular Season Round 8: Aarhus BC - Aalborg 85-84
Date: October 29, 2011
Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Aabyhoj (4-4) edged at home bottom-ranked Aalborg (1-7) 85-84 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Aalborg was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aabyhoj made 9 blocks. American players dominated the game. Forward D'Mario Curry (201-85, college: Lincoln Memorial) saved the victory by scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Demetrius Phillips (207-87, college: Bridgeport) contributed with 8 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Aabyhoj players scored in double figures. point guard Ryan White (177-88, college: Texas St.) replied with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St.) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Aalborg. Aabyhoj moved-up to fifth place. Aalborg lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Aabyhoj will face league's second-placed Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
