Regular Season Round 2: Samsun - Antakya 70-63

Round 2 in TKBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Samsun where host Samsun (2-0) beat league's leader Antakya (1-1) 70-63 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-63. Samsun forced 24 Antakya turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Jillian Robbins (185-84, college: Tulsa, agency: LBM Management) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Coco Miller (175-78, college: Georgia) chipped in 22 points. Power forward Laura Harper (193-86, college: Maryland) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and center Jessica Moore (191-82, college: Connecticut) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Samsun keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Galatasaray and Optimum TED. Newly promoted Antakya dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Galatasaray. Antakya will play next round against Tarsus Bld trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Samsun will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Mersin on the road.
