Regular Season Round 5: VolinBasket - Koksokh-Stal 91-76

Bottom-ranked Koksokh-Stal is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to fourth ranked VolinBasket (4-1) 91-76 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by VolinBasket. Koksokh-Stal was better in fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. VolinBasket dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Koksokh-Stal's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Power forward Vadim Reka (206-83) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. point guard Vladimir Zhurzhiy (182-78) contributed with 10 points and 8 assists for the winners. VolinBasket's coach Sergei Smityukh let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Swingman Boris Bereziuk (196-87) answered with 24 points and center Pavlo Gaydamaka (200-74) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Koksokh-Stal. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. VolinBasket have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Aviastar. Loser Koksokh-Stal still closes the standings with three games lost.
