There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (3-5) beat at home 10th ranked S.Marciulionio (3-5) 100-95 on Saturday. S.Marciulionio was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Gargzdai-Bremena shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. S.Marciulionio was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Arturas Gudaitis (208-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Mantas Martinkus (188-91) contributed with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Gargzdai-Bremena's coach Mindaugas Bugys used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Giedrius Kulbis (187-81) replied with 13 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and forward Tomas Lekunas (195-93) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for S.Marciulionio. Four Gargzdai-Bremena and five S.Marciulionio players scored in double figures. Gargzdai-Bremena moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with S.Marciulionio and Mazeikiai. Gargzdai-Bremena will face league's second-placed Radviliskis on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
