Regular Season Round 7: BC Kyiv - Hoverla 78-62

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Hoverla (7-2) on the court of seventh ranked BC Kyiv on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by BC Kyiv 78-62. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Hoverla. The game was mostly controlled by BC Kyiv. Hoverla managed to win fourth quarter 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Artem Shvets (202-85) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds. Ruslan Otverchenko (195-90) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four BC Kyiv players scored in double figures. American center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 13 points in the effort for Hoverla. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Kyiv (5-3) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Khimik and BC Donetsk. Hoverla at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. BC Kyiv is looking forward to face league's second-placed Azovmash in Mariupol in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hoverla will play on the road against Ferro-ZNTU in Zaporozhye and is hoping to win this game.
