There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Mazeikiai (3-5) won against at home higher ranked Perlas-MRU (4-4) 85-76 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-76. Mazeikiai had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Parrish Brown (185-84, college: Maryland, agency: Hightower Law Firm) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 4 assists. Forward Dainius Vaitelis (201-86) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Zydrunas Stankus (197-78, college: Campbell) replied with 23 points and guard Gintautas Vileita (194-75, college: Monmouth) added 20 points in the effort for Perlas-MRU. Mazeikiai moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with S.Marciulionio and Gargzdai. Loser Perlas-MRU keeps the seventh position with four games lost. Mazeikiai will face higher ranked LKKA-Atletas (#9) in Kaunas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
