Important game to mention about took place in Ludwigsburg. Tenth ranked New Yorker Phantoms (3-3) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (3-3) 70-69 in the game for the eighth place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But EnBW Ludwigsburg won third quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when New Yorker Phantoms won last quarter 16-17. The best player for the winners was power forward Nils Mittmann (201-79) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Immanuel McElroy (193-80, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 11 points. Four New Yorker Phantoms players scored in double figures. New Yorker Phantoms' coach Sebastian Machowski allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward John Bowler (206-84, college: E.Michigan, agency: Limelight Hoops) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds and the former international power forward Johannes Lischka (203-87) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. New Yorker Phantoms moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated EnBW Ludwigsburg. New Yorker Phantoms will face Artland Dragons (#8) in Quakenbrueck in the next round.
