Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Balikesir and 18th ranked Pertevniyal had identical 1-3 record. This time Balikesir used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Istanbul 77-72 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pertevniyal won third quarter 14-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and power forward Orbay Kaya (205-82) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Burak Can responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Soykan Yikilmaz (185-92) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Balikesir (2-3) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Pertevniyal at the other side dropped to the sixteenth position with four games lost. Balikesir will face league's leader Akhisar Bld on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pertevniyal will play against Usak (#5).
