Top ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (4-2) recorded its second loss at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by seventh ranked USC Heidelberg (4-2) 95-93. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 31-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. USC Heidelberg shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. American-Belizean guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Clint Sargent (193, college: S.Dakota St.) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. USC Heidelberg's coach Uwe Sauer used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Quinnel Brown (198-83, college: Auburn) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Jackson Capel (191-87, college: Evangel) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. USC Heidelberg have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Duesseldorf and Cuxhaven. USC Heidelberg is looking forward to face league's second-placed Webmoebel Baskets in Paderborn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cuxhaven BasCats will play on the road against the league's leader Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels and are hoping to win this game.
