Twelfth-ranked BG Illertal/Weissenhorn (0-7) gave a tough game to first ranked BSW Sixers (6-1). The visitors from Sandersdorf managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 27-17 third quarter run of BSW Sixers. Strangely BG Illertal/Weissenhorn outrebounded BSW Sixers 41-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Aaron Fleetwood (206-84, college: Delaware St., agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and guard Sascha Ahnsehl (186-86) supported him with 11 points and 7 assists. Five BSW Sixers players scored in double figures. BSW Sixers' coach Stephen Arigbabu allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 21 points and 9 rebounds by Croatian center Mirko Soyer (212-78) did not help to save the game for BG Illertal/Weissenhorn. Forward Femi Oladipo (201-90, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. BSW Sixers have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted BSW Sixers maintains first position in Group South with 6-1 record, which they share with Noerdlingen and Leipzig. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
