A very interesting game took place in Nurnberg. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Saar-Pfalz Braves (3-4) to twelfth ranked NBC (3-4) 91-89 in the fight for the ninth place. Saar-Pfalz Braves were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 26-21 third quarter run of NBC. They outrebounded Saar-Pfalz Braves 39-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Cory Abercrombie (201-85, college: Independence CC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. Naturalized American power forward Ryan De Michael (205-77, college: Tennessee-Martin) accounted for 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four NBC players scored in double figures. American guard Robert McKiver (191-84, college: Houston) came up with 28 points and naturalized Greek guard Kosta Karamatskos (197-86) added 14 points respectively for Saar-Pfalz Braves in the defeat. NBC moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Chemnitz and Braves. NBC's next round opponent will be higher ranked Crailsheim Merlins (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
