Regular Season Round 6: Otopeni - U.Mobitel.CN 82-84

Date: October 29, 2011
A very interesting game took place in Otopeni. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 13th ranked Otopeni (1-5) to sixth ranked U-Mobitelco (4-1) 84-82 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Otopeni was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 25-19 charge of U-Mobitelco, which allowed them to win the game. They made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Serbian center Zoran Krstanovic (204-82) notched 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Kyndall Dykes (190-87, college: New Orleans, agency: Edge Sports) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by Serbian guard Slobodan Popovic (198-80, agency: BeoExcell) did not help to save the game for Otopeni. point guard Daniel Popescu (183-88) added 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with CSU Sibiu. Otopeni lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with five games lost. U-Mobitelco's next round opponent will be Pitesti (#11) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Otopeni will play against Targu Mures.
