Regular Season Round 2: Fenerbahce - TED Ankara 77-84

An interesting game was played in Istanbul where Optimum TED (#5) beat host Fenerbahce (#2) 84-77 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Fenerbahce was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American guard Matee Ajavon (173-86, college: Rutgers) scored 31 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Demya Walker (191-77, college: Virginia) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. International center Nevriye Yilmaz (194-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Angel McCoughtry (185-86, college: Louisville) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Optimum TED (2-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Galatasaray and Samsun. Defending champion Fenerbahce dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Optimum TED will meet at home Botas (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fenerbahce will play against Istanbul Universitesi (#11) in Istanbul.
