Rather predictable result in Dniprodzerzhynsk where ninth ranked BC Odessa (4-4) defeated 11th ranked DniproAzot (2-6) 81-72 on Monday. DniproAzot was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-14 charge of BC Odessa, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to DniproAzot's 22. They outrebounded DniproAzot 41-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. BC Odessa looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. DniproAzot was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. BC Odessa moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Mykolaiv. Loser DniproAzot dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. BC Odessa will face higher ranked BC Donetsk (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. DniproAzot will play against the league's second-placed Budivelnyk (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
