Regular Season Round 8: Dnipro - Khimik 72-80

Very expected game in Dnepropetrovsk where 10th ranked Dnipro (2-4) was defeated by fourth ranked Khimik (6-4) 80-72 on Monday. Dnipro trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 16-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-80 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Denis Ikovlev (201-86, college: Nevada, agency: RIZO) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. American forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) responded with 17 points and 6 assists and international guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) scored 18 points. Despite that victory Khimik went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser Dnipro keeps the tenth place with four games lost. Khimik will face higher ranked BC Donetsk (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dnipro will play against Halychyna (#13) in Lviv.
