Regular Season Round 9: S.Marciulionio - Delikatesas 89-78

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Delikatesas (7-2) on the court of fourteenth ranked S.Marciulionio on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by S.Marciulionio 89-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Delikatesas. The game was mostly controlled by S.Marciulionio. Delikatesas managed to win fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. S.Marciulionio looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Delikatesas' players. Forward Osvaldas Olisevicius (196-93) stepped up and scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Denis Krestinin (200-94) chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds. S.Marciulionio's coach Gintaras Pocius used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Vidmantas Uzkuraitis (189-85) with 29 points and 9 rebounds and guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (184-88) scored 7 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. S.Marciulionio (4-5) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ezerunas-Karys and Silute. Delikatesas at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. S.Marciulionio is looking forward to face bottom-ranked ABRO-Universitetas (#16) in Siauliai in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Delikatesas will play at home against Silute (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
