Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Matinga-Juod. (6-3) beat on the road 10th ranked Silute (4-5) 78-74. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-14. But Silute won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Matinga-Juod. won last quarter 22-19. Strangely Silute outrebounded Matinga-Juod. 40-25 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Aurimas Birgelis (190-88) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Arunas Krivonis (196-82) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Matinga-Juod. players scored in double figures. Forward Egidijus Ramanauskas (202-88) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) added 8 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Silute. Matinga-Juod. moved-up to second place, which they share with Radviliskis and Statyba. Silute at the other side keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Matinga-Juod.'s next round opponent will be Meresta (#15) in Pakruojis which should be an easy win for them. Silute will play on the road against the league's leader Delikatesas (#1) in Joniskis.
