Top ranked Hoverla (7-4) recorded its fourth loss in Frankivsk on Friday night. Hosts were edged by tenth ranked Dnipro (4-4) 71-68. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 21-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Yaroslav Lemyk (203-85) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Brian Greene (195-83, college: Florida A&M) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dnipro moved-up to ninth place. Hoverla lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with four games lost. Dnipro are looking forward to face DniproAzot (#12) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round. Hoverla will play on the road against the league's second-placed Budivelnyk (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
