Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Maliye Milli and 9th ranked Pamukkale had identical 3-2 record. But Pamukkale was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from 95-93 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 41-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Maliye Milli made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Pamukkale was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Arthur Johnson (206-81, college: Missouri) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Swingman Melih Kabakci (200-82) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Matthew Pilgrim (203-87, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and guard Goekhan Senol (183-84) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Pamukkale players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Maliye Milli (4-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Pamukkale keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Maliye Milli will face Pertevniyal (#15) in Istanbul in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pamukkale will play on the road against Optimum TED (#6) in Ankara.
