We should mention about the upset which took place in , where higher ranked Matinga-Juod. (6-4) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Meresta (4-6) 63-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Matinga-Juod.. The game was mostly controlled by Meresta. Matinga-Juod. was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Liudas Radavicius (188-88) notched 25 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Audrius Maneikis (203-84, college: Motlow St. CC) supported him with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four Meresta players scored in double figures. Even 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Arunas Krivonis (196-82) did not help to save the game for Matinga-Juod.. Center Paulius Gvazdaitis (208-89) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Matinga-Juod.'s coach Mindaugas Sagaitis tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Meresta have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Silute and S.Marciulionio. Newly promoted Matinga-Juod. dropped to the third position with four games lost. Meresta's next round opponent will be higher ranked Statyba (#5) in Vilnius and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Matinga-Juod. will play against S.Marciulionio.
