Regular Season Round 10: Gargzdai - Perlas-MRU 84-90

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (3-7) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Perlas-MRU (6-4) 90-84 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-18. But Gargzdai-Bremena won second period 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Tadas Padegimas (201-90) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Four Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Perlas-MRU's coach Mindaugas Sakalauskas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Renatas Jonelis (201-84) produced 25 points and 8 rebounds and center Arturas Gudaitis (208-93) added 17 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Perlas-MRU moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Gargzdai-Bremena dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Perlas-MRU will face league's leader Delikatesas in Joniskis in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gargzdai-Bremena will play on the road against LKKA-Atletas (#9) in Kaunas.
