Regular Season Round 10: Rist Wedel - Wulfen 82-69

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked SC Rist Wedel (4-6) won against at home higher ranked BSV Wulfen (6-4) 82-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by SC Rist Wedel. BSV Wulfen was better in third quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SC Rist Wedel looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. BSV Wulfen was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for forward Fabian Boeke (211-86, college: Washington St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. American center Anthony Pettaway (203-87, college: Defiance) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Steve Briggs (178-85, college: Okla.Wesleyan) replied with 15 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) added 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for BSV Wulfen. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to ninth place in Group North. Newly promoted BSV Wulfen dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. SC Rist Wedel will have a break next round.
