Regular Season Round 5: Spartak - Sabac 85-68
Date: November 5, 2011
Rather expected game in Subotica where 13th ranked Sabac (1-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Spartak (3-2) 85-68. The game was mostly controlled by Spartak. Sabac was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 24-of-29 charity shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Spartak outrebounded Sabac 39-20 including 28 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Sabac helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Srdjan Stojanovic orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. Guard Miodrag Dinic (197-80) contributed with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Montenegrin guard Danijel Manjencic (195-71) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Bosnian guard Pavle Boljkovac (190-85) added 15 points in the effort for Sabac. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spartak moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Sabac dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. Spartak's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Radnicki OB in Obrenovac and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sabac will play on the road against Beovuk 72 (#12) in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
