Regular Season Round 9: BC Kyiv - DniproAzot 82-75

Very expected game when 12th ranked DniproAzot (2-8) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked BC Kyiv (6-4) 82-75 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-11. But DniproAzot won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Kyiv forced 20 DniproAzot turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Artem Shvets (202-85) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Vernon Goodridge (206-84, college: La Salle) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Goodridge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four BC Kyiv players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Filipino-American point guard Stanley Pringle (184-87, college: Penn St.) who recorded 28 points and forward Sergiy Gorbenko (202-85) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. BC Kyiv moved-up to sixth place. DniproAzot lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. BC Kyiv will face Halychyna (#13) in Lviv in the next round and are hoping to win another game. DniproAzot will play at home against Dnipro in Dnepropetrovsk.
